Always be aware of flood conditions. Do not cross low water crossings when our area is flooding. Low water crossings flood quickly becoming dangerous.  Water over the road is deceiving and may look passable but what you can’t see, can be life threatening. Floodwaters typically rise quickly and withdraw quickly. Stay put and wait it out. Know the low water points of the primary and alternative roads you travel. If you get trapped in your vehicle in floodwaters, get to the highest point and wait for help. Call the Bandera Sheriff’s office at 830-796-3771 for local road closures.
